Rajasthan

Rajasthan is a North-Western Indian state, with the city of Jaipur as its capital. The state has approximately 13,052 secondary and higher secondary schools. Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) has partnered with the state’s Dept of School Education (DSE) and the Centre for Education Research and Practice (CERP) in Rajasthan to implement CLIx in government schools in the state. The Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) is playing a key role in anchoring CLIx in the state.

In Rajasthan, the ICT@School scheme has been implemented in around 4,500 schools across the state. The State Govt intends to to implement the scheme in the remaining schools over the next two years. CLIx is being offered in 101 schools that already have ICT@School. The optimum student-to-device ratio envisaged in CLIx is two students per device— ideal for students to be able to produce rather than only consume. More resources are needed to fulfil the programme vision and are expected to be made available in time.

For the sustainability of its intervention, CLIx intends to build a networked ecosystem of partners, communities, individuals, institutions, teachers and resources, in collaboration with local implementation partners.
