i2C Training for Secondary Teachers

The first Invitation to Clix ( i2C) course was conducted with teachers at Aizawl (Mizoram) in a 3 day workshop (3rd-5th February 2016) at the SCERT by RMSA in collaboration with TISS and MZU.

The workshop began with a short inaugural session that was attended by Mr. Lalhlimpuia, Deputy DPC, Aizawl and Mr. Lalchuanmawia, ICT In-charge, SCERT, who welcomed teachers to the workshop. There were 33 teachers from across 30 schools of Aizawl who participated in the workshop. They were introduced to vector drawing, dynamic Mathematics and spreadsheet activities using applications such as Inkscape, Libre Office spreadsheets and Geogebra in the sessions. The platform enabled the teachers to navigate through a variety of sessions and activities for each of the modules, share and peer review each other’s work and write reflective learning notes.

Teachers’ feedback was positive in terms of the activities they learnt in the workshop. As a follow up to the workshop, the pilot version of the i2c course has been installed for testing in 2 schools, Mizoram University as well as at the ICT lab at SCERT.

Overall the pilot workshop provided to be a great learning opportunity for the entire i2c team in terms of technical provisioning, level of preparedness required and methodology for transacting the roll out for teachers which is planned for the month of April.
