Building the Future: Implementation Design Workshop, 11–13 January 2017
The CLIx Implementation Team organised a three-day workshop from 11 to 13 January 2017 at the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. The main purpose of this workshop was streamlining the current implementation and planning the implementation for 2017–18.This was a joint exercise of the Implementation Team with other teams such as Teacher Professional Development (TPD), Domain (i2C, English, Maths, Science, Values), Research, Communications, Operations, Technology and Production.
Professor Ajay Singh and Omkar Balli, implementation co-leads, led the workshop. Professor Padma Sarangapani guided the discussions among state implementation teams from Chhattisgarh, Mizoram, Rajasthan and Telangana and domain teams, TPD and other group members. On Day 1, state- and subject-specific discussions for planning TPD were held. On Day 2, module rollout for students planning, activities and timelines were discussed. Finally, on Day 3, themes across domains such as Head Teacher Engagement, Monitoring, Communications and Technology Readiness had their discussions. Each day ended with formulation of concrete action plans and identification of the areas where more information or clarity were required.
The three-day workshop was a success in that all participants gained better clarity on school-level implementation, present actions, challenges and requirements. The learnings, conclusions and clarity will definitely help to build more accurate and appropriate strategies, processes, activities and responsibilities to smoothen and scale up the implementation.
