CLIx English at Magic Bus Maidan Summit

The Maidan Summit, an event organized by the NGO Magic Bus, gave an interesting opportunity to network with other organizations and people in the field of education. The objective of the two-day summit was to explore and share scalable interventions. It was a good platform for the CLIx English team to showcase their module and receive responses from a crowd that evaluated it objectively.

Interesting panel discussions had people sharing their experiences and ideas in the field of education. The talks were an eclectic mix of humour, inspiration, thought provoking questions and glimpses of some personal journeys.

We made a presentation on CLIx. It was a great experience to present to a wider audience, the aim of the programme and the gaps it tries to address. Apart from getting a feel of the interface, participants got to understand the different tools in the module and what they tried to achieve. They also got a taste of the stories in the module.

Some of the organizations were looking at developing English as a medium of communication in schools. Participants were curious and wanted to understand how the module would unfold in the classroom. Through photos from our field visits, they got an idea of how the module was used and what happened in the schools in the four states where the module was rolled out.

The audience was anxious to know how teachers were being oriented to the module. As their organizations were looking at implementing a similar language programme, they asked if some of the teachers could be trained.
Overall, the two days of rich discussions gave a sense of how others in the field viewed and received the CLIx programme and helped us gauge the extent and scope of resources that we could share.
